In March 2008 we will be producing the inaugural southeast scotsirish festival and games in Anderson.  This event will be held at the city of Anderson recreation center march 6-9 2008 in conjunction with a community wide celtic celebration the entire month.  Over a year of planning has been put into the creation of a signature event for our community and we invite you to be a part of this as a sponsor.  As a 501-c-3 not for profit organization, EIN 02-0790285, we graciously ask for your support. 

The Games will begin Thursday night with a patron and sponsors dinner to honor the Scottish clan chiefs and representatives.  Friday features musical entertainment from four internationally renowned acts, demonstrations, 40 vendors, 40 clans, and the introduction of the over 75 athletes participating.  The 8 pipe and drum bands will be performing as well.  Saturday will see the start of athletic events and more music, food and entertainment will be showcased.  Sunday rounds out the weekend with the Kirking of the Tartans, an ecumenical celtic service, awards presentations to athletes and closing ceremonies.  We expect over 2000 participants alone and project 20,000 visitors over the weekend to our city.

Events of this kind occur throughout the year all over the country.  Anderson is unique in that its historic founding was by scotsirish settlers in the mid 1700’s.  Bringing these games here will provide an annual connection to our past, celebration of our rich traditions, and ground our future endeavors with pride.

Your valuable support will assist in bringing the entertainment here, shore up the logistical infrastructure, and insure a successful event we are certain all will enjoy.  Our goal is to provide a quality product our community will be proud to call its own for years to come.  Please consider how you can be a part of the most unique project to come to our community.
